INDIGO IT SUPPORTS K9S FOR WARRIORS

Indigo IT believes that it is important to support those who have bravely served our country. That’s why the company is a proud contributor to K9s for Warriors, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing service dogs to American heroes suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury, or other service related injuries as a result of post-9/11 military service.

“As part of our 2015 charitable holiday donations, we encouraged all team members to contribute to this wonderful cause and we were not disappointed,” said Denise van Wyngaardt, Indigo IT’s president and CEO. “We matched all employee donations and were able to raise $2,000 for this deserving charity.”

Service dogs are a proven recovery tool for PTSD sufferers and service-disabled veterans. K9s for Warriors’ mission is to empower veterans in “returning to civilian life with dignity and independence.”

Veterans are evaluated and matched with a service dog that meets their needs, but they aren’t the only ones benefitting from this new relationship. Ninety-five percent of service dogs are obtained from shelters, rescue organizations or private donors, allowing both man and beast in these instances to obtain a “new leash on life.”

“Programs such as K9s for Warriors help change the lives of military heroes,” said Ms. Van Wyngaardt. “We are honored to have the opportunity to contribute to this cause.”
